The Bearded Bible Study

This is a place for me to document and share my personal Bible studies. As a curious individual I have many questions that I am working to answer through scripture. A few of the things that I am most interested in learning about are biblical ethics, justice, and apologetics. I will make an effort to summarize my notes for reader comprehension, if I am feeling lazy, I may just post my notes and let you draw your own conclusions from them.

My Preferred Bible Translations in Order of Preference

New American Standard Bible (NASB) - I prefer this translation as it is considered to be literal and accurate because it generally uses the formal equivalence translation philosophy. In this method, translation is done word-for-word from the original languages as much as possible.

English Standard Version (ESV) - This version is very similar to the NASB but also strives to keep the grammatical structure of the original author's writing during the translation from the original language to English.

New International Version - I use this version as it is more of an idea-for-idea translation than it is word-for-word which can help to better understand underlying concepts that the author is trying to communicate.
